  1. I choose association

Before I had problem in phonetics exactly in « vowels lesson» I couldn’t recognize the pronunciation of each one so after using the association strategy it became easy and I had a lot of fun actually :) I make to every vowel a word which has a relationship with songs that I know and love ♥

    Examples:

/i:/ beat again, which is a title of a song for “JLS” /bi:t/
/e/ any other away, “the backstreet boys” /enI/
    /æ/ stand up, “jessie j” /stænd/
/É™/ what about now, “westlife” /É™’baÊŠt/

And here we go! Because I hear those songs a lot they became related to me with vowels :D
I hope that this is what you meant with posting our experience :) have a nice day miss Warda.

  4. My strategy is Talking :
Talking is one strategy that enables me to combine my prior knowledge with the new information derived from an expository oral including an oral discussion with a partner, a more detailed drawing, and written ;Talking is important strategy to learning and send my knowledge without problems to translate of my understanding.
The Talking strategy begins by inviting one to listening me. These initial are a way of taking inventory of a my current content knowledge about a particular topic.
    For exemple :
One of the best ways to stimulate conversation is to talk about funny stuff kids can relate to. “A great way to start conversation is to describe an interesting and funny event from your day ; Listener will thés respond and talk about interesting things that happened to her and conversation is being

  6. For me i choose "chunking strategy" :
Befor, the way which i used to study was noisy, the revision was difficult and i wan't preserve so much information but the using of chunking strategy make it easy , i mean instead of just read all the information together without organization, i divide it into parts. Like that i understand my lesson better and keep it in my mind for a long period of time.
As example: "Grammar lessons" specially tenses lessons which are too long so when i divide them into simple tenses and progressive tenses and past tenses,i don't take a long time in revision and i will be sure that i'm not going to forget it
Have a nice day and happy holiday miss :)

  8. My strategy is storytelling
Before I have faced the problem of remembering.
we have many modules that need to memorize like literature, culture Linguistics so I chose a story because it helps me improve my memorize in best I can relate the lesson by evident . A story can put your whole brain to work. "tell me a good story and I'll pay attention." This is similar to the use of analogies, by putting the concept into the context of a situation that's more easily grasped and can more easily be Remembered. Also, we can write a story by focusing on the key points of what you are learning and arranging them in a logical sequence for example, in literature I want to remember the name of the writer and his books

once upon a time there is a boy name is Mark Twain he was born in Florida this boy love a literature because he works hard he became a famous writer he wrote a lot of books like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer .Adventures of Huckleberry . "the Great American Novel.

  9. I chose self talking strategy
selftalk that occurs when a person reads. Self-talk is effective in helping you recognize both moments of confusion as well as moments of understanding, i chose self talking strategy because
before i faced many difficulties when I read, did not understand when I read an article or a poem or predication ...i was confused it really helped me to be patien and think positively.for exemple when i reach a point when my reading is confusing to me i stop for moment, and mark this on my text. think to myself.
I read the next section of my text to see if my prediction was correct. If it wasn’t, how was it different? so each of these methods help me to understand my reading

  10. The strategie that Ichoose is"chunking strategie" :
well, the method which Ichossed to use in my study is perfect for me,because my revision was difficult and it wasted my time in one module ,Also my stock of information is so much but the using of this strategy make it easy , Imean to read all the information together without organization It’s to difficult and It takes time,so i dicide to devidemy lessons into parts. And Like that ican understand my lesson better than before. And I can keep it in my mind for a long period of time.
such as: "phonetic lessons" specially vowel lessons which are too long,so when i divide them into front vowel and centre vowel and back vowel,And now It don't take a long time for me.

    I choose Graphic organizers
Usually i tend to understand more than keeping in the whole of my study cause i was study in scientifique division
That so i face difficulties of preservation in different modules such as : Linguistics, Literature, & so one.
But now i realize several skills & stategies of GLL in Methodology moduls due to miss warda khouni of cours. one of them is the "Graphic Organizers" which contains many different types using : mapes, images, cycles & drawings, which i work with. & i find it a useful way of memories in which i design a wholy Long lesson in one chapes drawn of cyclic pattern withg words in each chapes to represent things or events, it depend.
At the same time it helps me to sort the several inforation without confusing between them.

  17. I’m traditional girl, I like wisdoms, I like visiting the museum, reading books and the most things that I Love it………..is the History.
But birds of a father flock together, I have problem with dates I cannot remember it and that’s happened to me every time I cross a certain test…………… it’s disaster!!!!
I love history and I did not think at all to give it up! So that, I started some research about what can I do to fix that problem!
I choose to work the advice of my professor of methodology and experience one of the learning strategy “story telling” ……..do you think about what I’m thinking about!!!!
Yes, I can do it! All what I need is to summarize the events of history with dates by order like a short story and writing it in sticky notes and suspended in the mirror maybe or everywhere in home, and to test myself, I have to tell this short story to my little sister before bedtime; she is bothering me at all times every night to tell her bedtime story, as this way my sister perpetuate to sleep early and I will get the best marks in history and no forgotten dates anymore!

I were have aproblem in liturtur ,when I came to analyze a literary text I find my self that I cannot do it alone without loking to the lesson or ask my friends about the elements of analyzing. So I chose REHEARSING strategy to solve this problem.
I start read diffrent texts and analyze it to practice and remember all the elements and preserve it in my mind for ever .So I find that this strategy is very halpfull to move our information from the short term memory to the long term memory.

  20. graphic organizers are a great way to learn and retain information .

.graphic organizers help me to organize my information in a way that is meaning full and help me to think in more depth about the subject

Teachers can use graphic organizers to illustrate a student’s knowledge about a topic or section of text showing areas for improvement. For more graphic organizer examples including, webs, concept maps and mind maps

Also the graphic organizers help me to present the information in way that easier to remember the pull out the most important information .

I’m sure you will agree that it is much easier to understand .

why i use graphic organizers ?

simple put, organizers empower me to learn:

    faster.
    beter
    more easy
    - that is enough to get me understand.

  22. Good evening miss, I choose chunking strategy
Previously my methods of learning and memorizing were so messy and disorder especially in the lessons that needs preservation like culture of the language, social science & humanities and literature … but when you told us about the learning strategies I found what I need. With chunking strategy I could organize my information-lessons-and divide them into pieces which are called “chunks” for example in literature lesson of element of fiction which is the longest :) I divide it into small pieces and that is what makes it easy to preserve & to facilitate the steps of memorizing.

I am Mohammed Gouchat G 10. I was confused what can choose because I found all the strategies helpfull but finally I choose writing sentences . Because I try it before and it succeeded with me this problem was in Phonetics how to memorize the vowels? how to make difference between front vowels, centre vowels and back vowels.
So, I create 3 sentence each sentence contains the vowls of same kind and they was:
"I go to the bitch i sit for ten minutes I saw a cat."
"The bird of Doctor Jack try to fly away so he cut its wings."
"Under the light of the moon,a poor man was walking alone on foot its health was not good till he saw the car brake nearly."

  27. Hi miss how are u i hope your doing ok for me i choose the strategy of chunking :
now we all know that chunking strategy is used to make information more easier to memorize it and that by braking it to small chunks. and i have to say that this strategy has being a real life saver for me because i use it a lot especially when i have a difficult module like phonetic i find in it real long lessons such as how to distinguish between vowels pronunciation and when i try to take a look at all of the vowels i got confused there for i use chunking and try to take one vowel at a time and that realy works for me.

  28. Hello I am Asma, your student in group 08.
I notice that I have a problem of memorization, that’s why I’m interested to this Homework.
So, while reading about the 12 strategies that we learned; I found my self fascinated with the strategy number 10 which is (ACRONYMS)…
But there was a little other problem which is that in The exam : most of my good answers was from my understanding and not from my memorization and that was remarkable during my 15 years of study ..
And looking to (ACRONYMS): it is a strategy that helps me to memorize but it won’t help me to understand the information.
So; it was my cause to choose a combination of (Understanding) and (Acronyms)…
For example: In Literature [Neo Classicism]: I had to understand what is the meaning of the definition on my disposition and that was by connecting between the inventors and the date, than I gathered the key words in the definition and make a n acronym with it, like it follows:
    Reaction …………………..
    Against…………………….
    Renaissance……………….
Greek …………………….. [Rarogere]…a funny word to remember :)
    Exuberant…………………
    Roman……………………
    Enthusiasm………………
And that’s how I’m planning to solve my problems of memorization this semester.. ^-^

for me my problem is disuse; I don't use the information that I get from classroom so when I go to exama I can't remember anything.that is cause the memories fade away rapidly when not reviewd or used it so the staratigie wich I chose is tellingstory this stratigie is easy and funny and everyone enjoy on it when you write what you learn and when you take the main idea of learning each day and writte it like story or sing it like it like melody it will be easy to remember it for example when you write your daily and write it by focusing in what you learning you will found it easy way to remamber what you learn everyday.

I'm Cherif Soumia from G10, after a long thinking I prefer to choose rehearsing strategie because it can be used to learn relatively brief amounts of information, and it is good for learning "foundation information."Which is necessary to learn before more complex learning can take place,it often attempt to me to memorize the information by repeating it over and over. I may say the words out loud, or I say it to myself,in additon , this strategie can increases our familiarity with the information...for example it help me to memorize a list of irregular verbs or a specific words , vowels , consonants ... etc .

First of all I have to say that all the strategies mentioned are playing an important role in learning language but I prefer chossing a STORY TELLING as a solution of my problem wich is :spending a boring time during the study ,so how can this strategie trait my problem?
Knowing that the majority of us can find an intertainment when they hear or read deferent news about any thing in the world _short story_ ,so we'll be obliged to realise what we are intertaining by it in the life at what we are attending in our courses _study_ ie;to use diferent short stories on our studies to face the boring programes spent by us when we are going on the courses . Of corse it'll be an attractive strategie can be done by all supervisers of our dipartment .

Good evening Miss Khouni, my name is Zire Hana from groupe 10.The strategy that i prefer using is Rehearsing,to be honest i used to not really remember much after learning lessons in modules such as liguistics or literature even thought i did all my best to consontrate and tried to remember what i had learned during the lecture. It took me too much time to find myself not really remembring much in the end. So after using this strategy i found that it is the most helpful and beneficial strategy out there for me because it didnot take me too much time(i only spend about an hour to revise then i took a short break and tried to whrite it in a sheet of paper...i reviewed what i have whritten in my bed before falling asleep. In the morning i found that i still remember them easily), it was easier than spending the whole day at it .

  39. hello miss I am Batta Abdelmadjid from groupe 07.the strategy that I choose it acronymes.
some information that we forget them in our memorise until some time :days. persons.events
_this year we study in written expression lesson about coordinating conjenction that are:but.so .and .for.nor.or .yet.
but for a short time wene we want to repeat them we cannot remember them and find difficult tomemorise them .
_wefound to this problem a strategy called acronymes bywritten sentences this stratetegy consider very important to remember all information by take from each word the first letter and we consist those letters in sentense like this lesson cordinating conjenction we consist them as :fan boys
    F_for /A_AND/N_nor/B_but/Y_yet/S_so.

my probleme is when i form a sentence i don't use the rules of grammar ..In more formal written English clear structure is of paramount importance, and sentences are the foundation to achieving this. Unlike in spoken English, where the listener’s understanding is greatly aided by intonation, facial expressions and body language, and where repetition, vagueness and uncompleted ideas are perfectly acceptable, in order to express yourself in formal written English you must write in clear, concise, complete, well-punctuated sentences.help us this importance of writing sentences to know how we write true sentences ..and the prounciation ans spelling of words.and know more rules in grammar of forming a sentence..

Another example of the strategy we are using this topic in the conservation status of the strategic lessons for example, draw lines and words have nothing to do lessons outwardly but in essence the meaning and methods of enabling us were memorys Knowing that this topic strategy used frequently during the process of keeping the lessons and good preparation for the exams and I, personally, always follow the strategy this topic and I find great comfort when you do and I hope that my colleagues followed it comes to fruits and very positive results I wish to deliver an objective much you like.

  42. Salem 3aleikom everybody here :) I am Manseur Asme from group 07

I chose " writing sentence » as a strategy to better memorizing the « Difference between human language and animal communication system » in Linguistics
    The problem is :
How we can remember the design features by which we can differenciate between human language and animal communication system

The design features are : Duality – Displacement –Productivity –Stimulus freedom –Arbitrariness –The human Vocal Tract –Cultural transmission –Discretness –Interchangeability –Learnability.

Now , we take the first letter of each word , and try to make a meningful sentence :
    Here are the letters : D – D – P – S –F – A – V –T – C –T –D –I –L

***« FP Talc » is 3D TV*** : is the meningful sentence.
==> We consider « Fp Talc » as a mark of a television.

    I think now , it's easier to remember :)

  43. SARA LAHLOUHI's Essay ...... 1/3 part
Being a language learner I face a lot of problems when it comes to going on deep in some details and features of language learning, especially because a lot of modules are totally new and present a strange, difficult vocabulary for me. One of those problems I mentioned before is that the tutorials in all modules are complicated for a freshman like me, but that’s no longer a problem because I have just learned a new learning strategy called ‘chunking.’ Chunking means broking down the lesson or the tutorial in my case into smaller units; the things that definitely helped me overcome my lesson’s complication and ambiguity problems. Because they became magically easy to understand and to learn, I’ll probably give you an example about one module which is ‘linguistics’.
There is no doubt that ‘linguistics’ is a very complicated and full of details module, and it’s not usually easy to get the lessons of this module even we have a qualified teacher. An example of its complexity is the tutorial of ‘Major objectives of linguistics’ that was the hardest and most complicated tutorial for me in ‘linguistics’. But using and applying the ‘chunking strategy’ was completely useful; it helped me break down this big tutorial into smaller units which are: language structure, language use, different variations of language use, then language changes through time to finally introduce aspects of language change. And like that I could overcome the linguistics phobia I had before because lessons became to appear simple and easy to understand and to learn.

  44. SARA LAHLOUHI's Essay ...... 2/3 part
lessons became to appear simple and easy to understand and to learn.
One of the learning problems I daily face being a first year student is that of stress and anxiety of talking in front of the whole class. I used to feel like I’m walking to the hell when my teacher asks me to present something on the board, but thanks to a simple strategy called ‘talking’ I solved that problem, the story in here is a little bit longer than the first one, it began when my methodology teacher ‘Miss Khouni’ decided that we have to work in groups in the TD sessions, that was the beginning of this challenge and the end was that we have to present what we discussed like a team. Like usual my team chose me to present our work, I was confused about what to do when I remembered what ‘Miss Khouni’ has said. She told us something really funny about the ‘talking’ strategy; she said that this strategy is easy for us all because we talk a big deal, and we all love talking and can’t stop talking no even for few minutes. That’s what pushed me to talk and do the thing I have been taught to do. That was my first experience but it was awesome, and because we don’t have the chance to ‘talk’ in classes I asked Dr Bashar to allow me to attend with a class he teaches ‘oral expression’ when I prepared something for them, Dr Bashar gave me the opportunity to represent it, in front of them and the surprise is that I was not afraid at all I just kept talking and talking like I do everywhere and all of the time. That gave me probably more self confidence and trust on what I have.

    ReplyDelete
  45. SARA LAHLOUHI's 3/3 part
One of the strategies I used to use but at that time I didn’t knew what we call it. Until we saw it with ‘Miss Khouni’. This strategy is called ‘story-telling’, in my case that helped me most with ‘culture of the language’ in the tutorial of ‘Civilizations’ I rewrote this tutorial in form of a story using my own words. If I didn’t do that I would never be able to get the part concerned with the ‘Sumerian Civilization’ because that was really hard to memorize especially names of places and leaders. This leads me to ‘literature’ when I found a problem of memorizing. This time, I couldn’t memorize the themes ‘romanticism trend’ is interested in, that’ s why I used a strategy called ‘writing sentences’ and I wrote a very short sentence to compress them all in it. The sentence was ‘he fun’ I know this sentence has no sense but it helped me with all; I also didn’t want to lost a lot of time trying to find a meaningful sentence. Here is every letter and what he stands for (H=heritage, E=ethnic origins, F=folktales, U=underprivileged, N=nationals).
Believe me when I say that I have tried these strategies and they was really useful and work like magic in fairy tales, and they can even help you remember thing for all your life, and I want my classmates to experience these strategies and other strategies I don’t know or I have not experienced yet. Because my classmates are truly about to notice the satisfying results, there’s no dough.
Thank you for reading my simple essay

    1. Dear Sabrina, note taking is writing down notes and information from a text or a lecture. Note making is rewriting the notes you write down in your own words and style. So note making is summarizing.

  57. ATTENTION:
one of the main solution to improve memory is to concentrate because when you attend to a lecture or something else and concentratr on it,you will be able to understand it then remember it.here when we talk about the attendance we mean the physical and the mental(by our minds and bodys),we have also to use the new waysof learning what we call it determination to not be bore and loss your attention "if you want to learn something give it place in your mind than in your time"
Miss i am ghanem mouna from group 07 please accept my task because i lost the other email
